OPEN CASTING: Extras for Vampire Feature, Actors w/ Voiceover, Radio Drama


Cinemagic patrons, Ros and John Hubbard (The Commitments), of Hubbard Casting, are launching the search for young talent for the film from June 6 – 8 in Ballymena, Belfast and Newry and invite young people with all levels of experience to audition.

Open castings for young females aged 9-12 and young males aged 9-15 will take place on Friday, June 6 from 3.30pm – 7.00pm in The Braid: Ballymena Town Hall, Museum & Arts Centre, Ballymena; Saturday, June 7 from 10.00am – 4.00pm in The Europa Hotel, Belfast, and on Sunday, June 8 from 12pm – 6pm in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry. Applicants are required to bring a recent, simple photograph/headshot to the audition. There will be casting for other roles announced over the coming months and details will be announced through the Cinemagic website here.

The project is supported by OFMDFM, BBC Northern Ireland and UTV with the filming taking place from October 20 -November 15 2014. 

**EXTRAS NEEDED** to portray Crew Members, Human Extras and Vampire Extras in a Feature Film for Friday the 6th, Saturday the 7th and Monday the 8th of June.The Light of Day, a mockumentary feature film about a doomed film crew trying to adapt a best-selling vampire comic book. Due to the nature of the scenes extras would need to wear ripped or black clothes.

This film is being made in as part of the highly talked about MSc in Digital Feature Film Production in Filmbase.

Unfortunately it is unpaid, but Tea, Coffee and Snacks will be available.

The film will be ran in the Irish film Festival circuits.

***ACTORS NEEDED** with voiceover/ radio acting experience. A children’s radio drama series is in need of a cast member at the moment. It’s a fantasy/historical series set in an alternate 8th century Ireland where the magic and monsters of Irish folklore are real.

I’m looking for someone to play a male aged 12/13 who’s a bit of a brat. The character is male but I’m open to females auditioning if they can pull off the voice.

Recording will be at the end of June in RTE, exact dates TBC, but you must be available for a rehearsal half day and two recording days.

The programme will be broadcast on RTE Junior Radio over six episodes of 20 minutes each.

There is an opening for a continuity announcer for TV3 Studios, Ballymount, Dublin. This position is a part-time position for 2½ days per week. It would suit someone with voiceover experience or someone looking to get into the television industry.

Main tasks of job:
Researching and creatively composing links into and out of programmes.
Recording continuity voice overs and inputting of relevant information into our scheduling system.
Recording of presentation items, such as menus and credit squeezes.
Recording promos for the Newsroom, Midweek and other programmes when required.
Ensuring Branding Guidelines are adhered to across all voice overs.
Working closely with the schedulers in relation to the scheduling of voice over’s

Should be a self-starter capable of working under their own initiative
Have excellent organisational skills
Have excellent attention to detail

Desirable: A knowledge of ProTools would be advantage
